Job Summary We are seeking energetic and detail-oriented Full and Part-Time Kennel Attendants to join our team. In this role, as a caregiver, ensuring the well-being, cleanliness, and safety of our furry residents. Your enthusiasm for animals and strong work ethic will help create a positive experience for pets and their owners alike. Duties Provide daily care for dogs and cats, includes feeding, watering, cleaning kennels and facility areas, and administering medications as needed Handle animals gently and confidently, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff Maintain a clean, organized environment by disinfecting kennels, bedding, and common areas regularly Assist with pet grooming, pet sitting, and basic training activities to support overall animal well-being Observe animals closely for signs of health issues or distress and report findings to veterinary staff or management Support veterinary technicians with animal handling during medical procedures or examinations Engage with pets through positive interaction to promote comfort and reduce stress during their stay Requirements Prior experience in animal handling, kennel work, or veterinary assistance is highly preferred Knowledge of dog training techniques and pet grooming is a plus Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) repeatedly throughout the shift Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Familiarity with animal restraint methods and basic pet care practices Experience with veterinary environments or veterinary technician roles is advantageous A genuine passion for animals combined with reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude Join us at Boise Kennels where your love for animals can thrive!
