Jobs › New Braintree, MA › Physical Training Manager State of Massachusetts Physical Training Manager New Braintree, MA Apply The Department of State Police is seeking a Physical Training Manager to assist in ensuring consistent standardization of the physical training (PT) practices for the State Police Academy. This individual will assist with balancing the necessary levels of physical and mental stress in the academy setting while maintaining the highest level of standards of safety for recruits and cadets. The Physical Training Manager will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for enhancing the safety, quality and overall effectiveness of physical training delivered to State Police Recruits. This role will develop and implement certification standards, establish safety protocols, design comprehensive curricula, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training aligns with agency goals, industry best practices and evolving performance needs. Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Create, implement, and maintain certification standards for PT instructors and staff instructors to ensure consistent training across academies.
  • Develop, review and update policies and procedures governing PT and instructor training.
  • Partner with instructors, academy staff, subject matter experts and external organizations to ensure standards and practices align with Agency priorities and best practices.
  • Design comprehensive PT training curriculum for recruits and cadets.
  • Conduct safety audits and mitigate identified risks. Adjust training programs when necessary.
  • Adjust training programs and safety guidelines based on injury trends and performance data.
  • Lead PT working groups as assigned.
  • Present findings, recommendations and updates to the Director of Training and Commandant on updated PT practices.

Preferred Experience:
  • Four years of experience in physical training, health services, clinical administration or clinical management
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management of which (B) at least one (1) year must have been in a project management, supervisory or managerial capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required (A) experience. II. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required (A) experience. III. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required (A) experience. IV. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the required (A) experience.
