Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Kennel Assistant to join our dynamic dog care team. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate animal care, assist with daily kennel operations, and support staff in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our furry patients. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure that each animal receives the highest standard of care, fostering a positive experience for pets and their owners alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in animal and client service within a fast-paced pet care setting. Responsibilities Provide daily care and supervision for animals housed in the kennel, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and monitoring health status Support dog handlers on their daily task. Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, medications administered, and kennel activities in accordance with protocols Help manage front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and processing pet check-ins and check-outs Ensure kennel cleanliness by disinfecting cages, bedding areas, and equipment regularly to uphold hygiene standards Qualifications Prior kennel experience or background in animal husbandry preferred; enthusiasm for working with animals is essential Knowledge of veterinary terminology and pet care practices Experience in animal handling, dog handling skills, and familiarity with restraint techniques required Ability to perform medication administration accurately and follow aseptic procedures when necessary Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment Join us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals while advancing your career in veterinary care!
