Want more furry friends and wet noses in your life? Here's your chance! The Right Fluff is hiring pet sitters and dog walkers to join our team. We go to clients' homes to take care of their cats and dogs while they're at work or out of town. Most visits run 30 to 60 minutes: a midday walk, a feeding, some play time, and plenty of love.
Why people love this job:
The team members who thrive here tend to have a few things in common. They genuinely love cats and dogs (like, genuinely ). They want work that's active, engaging, and nowhere near a desk. They like flexibility and independence. And they bring a positive, team-first attitude. We consistently hear from staff that the culture here is one of the best parts, and we're protective of that. This tends to be a great fit for students, parents of school-age kids, active retirees, freelancers, or anyone looking to fill their time with work that actually feels good. Location & driving: We don't have a facility. All services happen at clients' homes, and you'll be driving between visits. Right now we are especially looking for coverage along/within the Rockville, North Bethesda, downtown Bethesda and Chevy Chase corridor. Availability (read this part carefully): Your availability is the single biggest factor in whether this is a fit. You don't need to be available 40 hours a week (many of our team work other jobs!), but consistency is key. The ideal candidate has a reliable time block across at least 5 days a week. Some examples of availability that works well: Mon-Fri, 11am-4pm 5 days a week, 7am-10am All day Sat & Sun + 3 weekday evenings Having only 2-4 scattered days a week or a frequently changing schedule, regardless of hours, makes it very difficult to build you a workload.
A note for seasonal applicants:
We do hire students and teachers for the summer! But we're looking for people with no major trips between late May and August and availability the 4th of July weekend. Bonus points if you're interested in picking back up during school breaks like Thanksgiving and winter holidays. What you'll do: Walk, feed, socialize with, and provide general care for cats and dogs Administer medications as needed Communicate with pet owners about how visits go, including any concerns about behavior or health Keep the team in the loop through our scheduling platform What you'll need: A valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle The ability to handle physical tasks: bending, lifting, and keeping up with energetic dogs Strong communication skills (with humans, not just pets) A genuine love of animals and a proactive, problem-solving mindset Prior pet care experience is a plus, but not required
