The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong background in pet care and grooming. This role involves providing high-quality grooming services to pets, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. The Pet Groomer will also engage with pet owners to provide excellent customer service and educate them on proper pet care. Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, clipping, and styling of dogs and other pets. Handle pets safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort during grooming sessions. Provide basic dog training tips to pet owners as needed. Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, adhering to health and safety standards. Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and any concerns observed during grooming. Assist in animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the pet and the groomer. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any inquiries or concerns from clients. Collaborate with veterinary staff when necessary to ensure the health and well-being of pets. Qualifications Previous experience of 2 years in pet grooming is required; certification is a plus. Strong skills in animal handling, including dog training, veterinary technician or assistant experience, equine experience, or kennel experience. Knowledge of animal care practices, including proper grooming techniques and animal restraint methods. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed when handling larger breeds or equipment. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
