Weekend Shelter Attendant - Join Our Pack at Humane Society of the Lakes! Love animals? Looking for a rewarding weekend job where you can make a difference in the lives of dogs and cats? Humane Society of the Lakes is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic animal lover to join our team as a Weekend Shelter Attendant . This position is perfect for someone who wants meaningful weekend work while helping homeless pets receive the care, attention, and love they deserve. What You'll Be Doing Provide daily care and attention to shelter dogs and cats Clean kennels, cages, litter boxes, and common areas Feed animals and ensure fresh water is always available Exercise and socialize dogs through walks and playtime Provide enrichment activities to improve animal well-being Monitor animal health and behavior and report concerns Assist visitors and potential adopters in a friendly, professional manner Support adoption events and weekend shelter operations Work closely with fellow team members to maintain a safe and welcoming environment What We're Looking For Passion for animal welfare and pet care Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift Comfortable handling animals of various sizes and temperaments Previous animal care experience is a plus, but training is provided Must be 18 years of age or older Schedule Weekend Availability Required Saturday and Sunday shifts 1:30pm to 8 pm or 2:30pm to 8 pm Every other holiday required.
