The ideal candidate will provide high-quality grooming services while ensuring a safe and positive experience for every pet. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent animal-handling skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
Key Responsibilities Bathing & Drying:
Wash and dry dogs' coats using appropriate shampoos and conditioners to maintain skin and coat health.
Hair Trimming & Styling:
Perform clipping, trimming, and styling according to breed standards and/or client preferences.
Nail Care:
Safely clip and file nails to maintain proper length and hygiene.
Ear Cleaning:
Clean ears to remove wax and debris, helping prevent infections.
Skin & Coat Assessment:
Observe pets for signs of skin conditions, parasites, or other health concerns during grooming.
Client Communication:
Consult with pet owners to understand their grooming requests, provide professional advice, and schedule future appointments.
Workspace Maintenance:
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized grooming environment before and after each session.
Safe Handling & Restraint:
Gently and effectively manage dogs during grooming to ensure safety and comfort.
Product Sales:
Recommend and sell appropriate grooming products to clients. Qualifications & Requirements Previous professional grooming experience required (certification or formal training preferred). Strong knowledge of breed-specific cuts, coat types, and grooming techniques. Ability to safely handle dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare. Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift dogs (up to 50 lbs.), and perform repetitive tasks. Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism are essential. Work Environment This position requires working in a fast-paced grooming salon where safety, compassion, and quality are top priorities. Flexible scheduling may be available, including weekends.
