Kennel Assistant

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, experience with handling various types of pets, and the ability to perform physical tasks associated with maintaining a clean and safe environment for our furry clients. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets. Maintain cleanliness in kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management. Assist with administering medications as directed by veterinary technicians or veterinarians. Support pet owners during drop-off and pick-up times by providing excellent customer service. Help with heavy lifting when moving animals or equipment as needed. Participate in training sessions for new staff members on animal handling and care procedures. Shifts are (4) 10 hour days 7:15am to closing Requirements Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred Knowledge of animal behavior and basic care requirements for various species. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being. Experience kennel management is advantageous but not mandatory.
