Job Description

BJ's Dog Grooming is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and animal-loving Kennel Technician to join our team. This position involves caring for dogs and cats in our boarding and daycare facility while maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment. This is a physically demanding position that requires working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. Responsibilities Supervise and monitor dogs in daycare playgroups. Feed, water, and care for boarding dogs and cats. Clean kennels, play yards, cat rooms, and common areas. Bathe dogs and assist groomers as needed. Administer medications according to instructions. Monitor animals for signs of illness, injury, or behavioral concerns. Maintain accurate feeding, medication, and care records. Assist with customer check-ins and check-outs. Ensure all animals receive proper exercise, potty breaks, and attention. Follow all safety and handling procedures. Perform general facility cleaning and maintenance duties. Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. Reliable transportation and punctual attendance required. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and peak vacation periods. Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day. Comfortable working outdoors in Mississippi heat, cold, and rain. Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Must pass a background check. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a kennel, veterinary clinic, daycare, grooming salon, farm, or animal-related field. Experience administering medications. Experience handling large or high-energy dogs. Knowledge of dog body language and behavior.
