Job Description

Position Summary The Kennel Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of pets in our care. This position is responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary facilities, providing compassionate animal care, and assisting the veterinary and resort team with daily operations. Key Responsibilities Provide compassionate care, handling, and monitoring of dogs and cats in the hospital and resort. Feed, water, and walk animals according to individualized schedules and dietary needs. Watch, interact with, and supervise dogs in play yards to ensure safe and positive socialization. Maintain a clean and sanitary environment, including kennels, play yards, and common areas. Work safely and effectively in wet, noisy, and outdoor environments. Observe animals for signs of illness, stress, or behavioral changes and promptly report concerns to supervising staff. Assist with bathing, nail trims, and basic grooming as needed. Safely handle animals of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Provide excellent customer service by assisting with pet check-ins and check-outs. Follow protocols for disease prevention, animal safety, and client confidentiality. Qualifications Prior experience in animal care, kennel work, or veterinary hospital preferred but not required (training available). Ability to safely handle animals in a calm, confident, and compassionate manner. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols. Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team-oriented environment. Must have reliable transportation to ensure punctuality and dependability. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varying conditions (indoor/outdoor, noisy environments).
