Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our veterinary and pet care team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, excellent grooming skills, and experience handling various pets, including dogs and other small animals. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly environment dedicated to providing exceptional pet grooming and care services. Candidates should be comfortable working with animals of all temperaments and sizes, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout grooming procedures. Prior experience in veterinary settings or animal handling is highly valued, and candidates must be committed to delivering outstanding customer service. Responsibilities Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing for dogs and other small animals Handle animals safely and humanely during grooming procedures, utilizing proper restraint techniques Maintain a clean and sanitized grooming area in compliance with health standards Assess each pet's health condition prior to grooming; report any concerns to veterinary staff or management Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about grooming needs and aftercare instructions Assist with pet handling during check-in and check-out processes Support additional pet care tasks or kennel duties as needed Ensure the safety of animals during all procedures, including heavy lifting when necessary for larger pets or equipment Experience Prior experience in pet grooming is required, with a strong background in animal handling and restraint techniques Veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus, especially involving animal care and medical procedures Knowledge of dog training principles is beneficial for managing difficult or anxious pets Experience working with veterinary or kennel environments demonstrates familiarity with animal care standards Skills in heavy lifting are necessary for handling larger animals or equipment safely Excellent customer service skills are essential for communicating effectively with pet owners and providing a positive experience for clients This position offers a rewarding opportunity to combine technical grooming skills with compassionate animal care. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
