Grooming Assistant

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Grooming Assistant to join our veterinary and pet care team. This role involves assisting with pet grooming, handling animals, and supporting veterinary staff in providing exceptional care. You'll be responsible for making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and squeaky clean. This is a fast-paced, physical role that requires a genuine love for dogs (and sometimes cats!). Prior experience in animal care or veterinary settings is highly valued, along with excellent customer service skills. Responsibilities Assist with pet grooming procedures, including bathing, brushing, nail trimming, blow drying and styling of animals Handle animals safely and humanely during grooming and ensure compliance with safety protocols related to animal handling and restraint Maintain cleanliness of grooming areas, kennels, and treatment rooms Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move animals or equipment safely Deliver excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners and clients experience Dog training or dog handling experience is preferred Animal handling skills across various species, specifically canines and feline Kennel experience or pet grooming background is advantageous Experience with animal restraint techniques and pet care routines Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently Prior work in veterinary clinics, animal shelters, or pet grooming salons is a plus

Previous animal handling experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.

Pay:

$12.50 - $14.00 per hour
