Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team. We are a stress and drama free shop looking for another groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and grooming, with experience in handling various pets, including dogs and other small animals. This role involves providing professional grooming services while ensuring the safety and comfort of each pet. The Pet Groomer will work closely with pet owners and team members to deliver exceptional care and grooming results in a friendly, professional environment. Responsibilities Perform grooming services such as bathing, trimming, brushing, and styling for pets according to breed standards and customer preferences Handle animals safely and gently, utilizing animal restraint techniques to ensure both pet and groomer safety Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools and work areas to meet health and safety standards Assess pets' health conditions during grooming appointments and communicate any concerns to pet owners or veterinary staff Provide excellent customer service by addressing client questions and explaining grooming procedures Assist with pet handling during grooming sessions, including managing animals with special needs or behavioral challenges Support overall animal care activities as needed, including pet sitting or kennel duties Follow proper animal handling protocols, including heavy lifting when necessary for larger animals or equipment Experience Prior experience in pet grooming is REQUIRED, with knowledge of dog training, animal handling, and pet care techniques is preferred. Veterinary experience such as veterinary technician or assistant background is a plus, especially related to animal restraint and health assessment Experience working with various animals including dogs, cats, or other small pets is advantageous Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for larger animals or equipment handling This position offers an opportunity to work in a caring environment dedicated to animal well-being. Candidates should be passionate about animals, detail-oriented in grooming practices, and committed to providing exceptional pet care services. You must be able to provide pictures or examples of your prior grooms. We also require you to have your own supplies and to have at least 1 year experience in a professional manner. This doesnt include your own pets baths or trims. We require knowledge in dog breed clips along with whats best for the pet and being able to talk to the parent about the best options we can provide for them.
