In this energetic role, you'll be the first to make pets look and feel their best through gentle grooming and bathing. Your enthusiasm will help create a positive experience for pets and their owners alike, ensuring every animal receives compassionate handling and top-quality care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your animal handling skills while contributing to a welcoming environment that celebrates the joy of pet care. Responsibilities Safely bathe, dry, and brush dogs and other small animals, ensuring a thorough and gentle process that leaves pets clean and comfortable Handle animals with care, using proper restraint techniques to keep them calm and secure during grooming procedures Assist with pet trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and other grooming services as needed Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, grooming stations, and bathing supplies Monitor pets for signs of stress or discomfort during grooming sessions and respond appropriately to ensure their well-being Communicate effectively with other team members regarding grooming preferences, special needs, or health considerations Support staff with basic animal handling tasks when required, including kennel cleaning or assisting during grooming procedures Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent injuries to animals or staff during all handling and grooming activities Requirements Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience are a plus, demonstrating familiarity with animal behavior management Strong animal handling skills with the ability to restrain animals safely using humane methods Experience working with technicians or assistants is advantageous for understanding animal health needs Ability to lift heavy objects/ dogs (up to 50 pounds) regularly for bathing supplies or equipment setup Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members Previous kennel experience or pet sitting background is beneficial in understanding animal care routines Passion for animals combined with a positive attitude and energetic approach to daily tasks Join us in creating happy, healthy pets while building your career in animal care!
