Job Description

Job Overview What is The Wag Factor, LLC? The Wag Factor is a mid-day dog walking service. We provide dog walks for clients who are unable to get home in the middle of the day, as well as cat care. Our operating hours are from 9am-4pm We provide walks on weekends, although weekdays are much busier. The professional dog walkers employed by The Wag Factor travel to our clients' homes to perform the duties outlined by our clients. These duties can include walking, playtime, feeding, and providing company for the pets, etc.
Towns Serviced:
Mount Pleasant Daniel Island Isle of Palms Sullivan's Island The main service we provide is mid-day dog walking and cat sitting. We have clients who use us every week and clients who use us on occasion. We do not accept aggressive dogs as clients and we assure that every walker would be equipped to take care of any 4-legged client. Why join our team? Professional pet care is incredibly rewarding and fulfilling, and every one of our walkers LOVES their job!
The Wag Factor offers:
Fuzzy Faces & Unconditional Love!
Employee Status Competitive Compensation Flexible Hours Workers Compensation Exercise & Fresh Air Independence Employee Requirements:
Have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle. Be physically fit and able to work and commute in all types of weather (this is a VERY active position that requires energy, even on rainy, cold, humid and hot days.) You must be able to access our mobile phone application while performing duties. (Smartphone) Have daily access to the Internet and the ability to communicate effectively by returning client messages and requests promptly. Be familiar with our service area. Be available to commit to at least 6 months. Submit a current background check to The Wag Factor. Summary The Wag Factor employs individuals who have availability to fit our midday dog walker positions. This position requires walkers to be available 2-5 days during our service times. The Wag Factor services different areas in the great Charleston area, as listed above. We assign our walkers a specific service area as close to their home base as possible, to help increase profit and decrease drive time. The typical travel distance is 2-10 miles, unless they have agreed to travel further. Your assignments may be less than your availability to start. We will build up your service area, as you get more comfortable with the rhythm of the job. While The Wag Factor walkers do their best to cover in cases of emergencies, this is not a job where "calling in sick" is tolerated regularly. The pets in your care depend on you to complete your assignments and one no-call-no-show is cause for immediate termination of employment. Long-Term Relationship The Wag Factor is interested in working with employees who want to build a long-term relationship with our company and its clients. It's not a good position for those trying to find interim work while in-between jobs or trying to "figure-out" what their next step is. Our clients come to trust their assigned walkers and appreciate it when they're able to grow a trusted long-term relationship with that person. Compensation Dog walking visits are 30 minutes in duration and the pay is $13 per 30 minute visit. Most walkers do around 3-6 visits per day. Pay averages out to be about $21-$23 an hour, including drive time. You will be compensated for any shadow walks that you complete and online training. You are paid weekly, every Friday, via direct deposit. This is a W-2 position, not an independent contractor job.
