Job Summary Join our vibrant pet care team as a Dog Bather, where your passion for animals and dedication to a dog's experience will shine! In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for providing top-quality bathing and handling services to ensure each dog looks and feels their best. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to creating a safe, comfortable environment for our furry clients.
The reality of the role:
While this position is perfect for someone who truly loves animals, please note that this is a highly active, fast-paced and physically demanding role. It is much more than just playing with puppies-it requires stamina, speed and the ability to handle hard work with a positive attitude. If you thrive in a bustling environment and love seeing the immediate reward of a clean and happy pet, you will fit right in! Duties Safely handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments using proper animal restraint techniques Perform bathing, drying and brushing services to meet each pet's specific needs Execute the full routine including thorough high-velocity drying, de-shedding, nail clipping/grinding, ear cleaning, teeth cleaning and gland expressing. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming stations and equipment Monitor dogs for signs of stress or discomfort and respond appropriately to ensure their well-being Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners pet care needs Requirements Previous experience in pet salon, animal handling, or kennel work preferred Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures is a plus Strong animal restraint skills with an understanding of pet behavior management Ability to stand for long periods, bend, crouch and lift heavy dogs repeatedly throughout a fast paced shift Willingness to get wet, dirty and covered in dog hair while working in a loud, high-energy environment Excellent communication skills and a friendly, energetic attitude Passion for animals with a commitment to providing compassionate care in a fast-paced environment Hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with the possibility of working until 6 p.m. occassionally Tuesday-Saturday.
Rate of Pay/Benefits:
Training Rate:
$10 per hour during the initial training period.
Base Rate:
Increases to $15 per hour immediately upon successful completion of training (timeline varies based on how quickly you are able to work independently) Other incentive programs are available once training is complete.
Paid time off:
Employees earn 1 day of PTO every 6 months, starting after 1 year of continuous employment. Company time off every June for one week, December, typically 12-14 days depending on what day Christmas falls on and various days around the major holidays.
