Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, haircutting, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and styling tailored to each dog's breed and owner preferences Handle dogs safely using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures Assess each pet's health condition and behavior; communicate any concerns or abnormalities to pet owners or staff Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use Assist with pet handling during appointments, ensuring a calm environment that reduces stress for the animals Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and offering pet care advice Support additional animal care duties such as kennel cleaning or assisting with pet sitting when needed Skills Proven experience in pet grooming with knowledge of various breeds' grooming standards Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage dogs safely and compassionately Familiarity with veterinary procedures or veterinary technician experience is a plus Knowledge of dog training techniques and behavior management strategies Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or large dogs Excellent customer service skills with clear communication and a friendly attitude Experience in animal restraint, pet care, animal handling, kennel work, or pet sitting is highly desirable Basic understanding of veterinary or veterinary assistant roles enhances your ability to recognize health issues during grooming Join us in creating happy, healthy pets by delivering top-quality grooming services!
