In person Important Experience Requirement Molly's Dog Care is seeking a highly experienced professional groomer with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on, professional dog grooming experience . This is not an entry-level grooming role. Candidates who do not have at least 3 years of professional grooming experience should not submit an application. Grooming school alone, bathing experience alone, or apprentice-level experience does not meet the requirement for this position. Position Overview We are looking for an experienced, confident, and compassionate Pet Stylist to join our grooming team. The ideal candidate is already comfortable completing full-service grooms independently, communicating with clients professionally, and handling dogs of different breeds, sizes, coat types, ages, and temperaments. This role is best suited for a groomer who takes pride in their craft, values a clean and organized workspace, communicates clearly, and understands that a successful grooming appointment is about more than the haircut. It is about safety, comfort, trust, and creating a positive experience for both the dog and the client. What Success Looks Like A successful
Molly's Pet Stylist:
Completes high-quality, professional grooms with consistency and attention to detail Handles dogs gently, safely, and confidently, including nervous or sensitive dogs Communicates clearly with clients about haircut goals, coat condition, matting, skin concerns, and aftercare Works well with the front desk, daycare, MOD, and leadership teams Maintains a clean, organized, sanitary grooming space Keeps pet parents informed with professionalism and kindness Represents Molly's with warmth, confidence, and pride Responsibilities Perform full-service grooming for dogs of various breeds, sizes, coat types, and temperaments Complete breed-specific cuts, custom pet trims, bath and brush services, bath and tidy services, sanitary trims, nail trims, ear cleaning, and related grooming services Review grooming instructions and confirm service details before beginning appointments Communicate professionally with clients about grooming goals, coat condition, matting, behavior, skin concerns, and realistic outcomes Prioritize each dog's safety, comfort, and wellbeing throughout the grooming process Adjust services when needed based on coat condition, behavior, age, or safety tolerance Follow safe handling practices when working with grooming tools, nervous dogs, senior dogs, puppies, and dogs with special needs Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized grooming area throughout the day Communicate with the front desk and MOD about pickup times, behavior notes, service changes, and client needs Support a smooth client experience from drop-off through checkout Help uphold Molly's standards for safety, cleanliness, professionalism, and compassionate care Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of professional, hands-on dog grooming experience Ability to complete full grooms independently from start to finish Strong scissor, clipper, bathing, drying, brushing, dematting, and finishing skills Experience with breed-specific cuts and customized pet styles Knowledge of coat types, skin and coat health, matting, safe handling, and grooming safety Ability to confidently and humanely handle dogs of different sizes, ages, and temperaments Strong communication skills with clients and coworkers Reliable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented Comfortable working in a busy dog care environment with daycare, boarding, grooming, and front desk teams operating together Please Do Not Apply If You have less than 3 years of professional grooming experience Your experience is limited to bathing only You recently graduated grooming school but do not have professional grooming experience You are looking for an apprenticeship or entry-level training role You are not comfortable completing full grooms independently What We Offer 50% commission on all grooming services completed Strong earning potential, estimated at $3,000-$4,000+ per month depending on schedule, productivity, and appointments completed Tips Support from front desk, MOD, daycare, and leadership teams A clean, modern, boutique facility designed around pet comfort and safety A professional team culture built on communication, consistency, and care Established client base through daycare, boarding, and grooming services Opportunities for continued growth and professional development Health insurance for eligible full-time employees Flexible scheduling options may be available based on business needs Schedule Day shifts Weekend availability preferred Full-time or part-time may be considered for the right experienced candidate Compensation Package 50% commission Commission pay Tips Experience Professional dog grooming: 3 years required Apply To apply, please submit your resume and a brief note about your grooming experience, your preferred grooming style or specialties, and why you would be a strong fit for Molly's Dog Care.
