Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping to meet each pet's specific needs and breed standards Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures Maintain a clean, organized grooming area, including sanitizing tools and workspaces regularly Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide expert advice on pet care and maintenance Monitor pets during grooming for signs of distress or health issues, alerting veterinary staff if necessary Assist with pet handling tasks such as dog training or behavioral management to facilitate smooth grooming sessions Support team members with additional animal handling duties, including kennel care or pet sitting when needed Requirements Proven experience in pet grooming, with a strong understanding of breed-specific cuts and styles Knowledge of dog handling techniques and animal restraint methods to ensure safety for both pets and groomers Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles is highly desirable, providing insight into animal health and behavior Experience with animal handling across various species, including dogs and horses, is a plus Familiarity with pet care routines such as bathing, brushing, ear cleaning, and nail trimming Ability to lift heavy objects (heavy lifting) safely when necessary for equipment or supplies Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and address their concerns Join us in creating a happy, healthy experience for every pet that walks through our doors!
