Professional Dog Groomer K9 Destination | Eau Claire, WI K9 Destination is looking for an experienced Professional Dog Groomer to join our growing team! As a family-owned and operated business, we pride ourselves on providing premier grooming, wellness, and pet care services while maintaining the welcoming, small-business atmosphere our clients know and love. We are committed to providing exceptional care to every pet while creating a positive, supportive work environment for our team. Position Summary The Professional Dog Groomer is responsible for providing safe, high-quality grooming services while ensuring every pet receives compassionate care and every client receives outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate is experienced, dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping pets look and feel their best. Responsibilities Including, but not limited to: Welcome pets and their owners, documenting grooming instructions, contact information, and pickup times. Perform bathing, brushing, drying, de-shedding, shaving, hand scissoring, and breed-specific grooming services. Provide nail trims, ear cleaning, ear plucking, and anal gland expression (upon request). Monitor each pet's health, behavior, and comfort throughout the grooming process. Ensure the safety and well-being of every dog during their appointment. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary grooming environment. Clean and disinfect grooming tables, tubs, kennels, tools, and workspaces daily. Perform routine maintenance on grooming equipment. Respond to client inquiries professionally and assist with scheduling appointments. Work collaboratively with team members to provide an exceptional customer experience. Assist with additional duties as needed to support the success of the business. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of professional dog grooming experience. Portfolio or photos of previous grooming work required. Strong scissoring and breed-standard grooming skills. Ability to groom according to both breed standards and client preferences. Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments, including dogs over 100 pounds. Ability to independently grow and maintain a loyal client base while contributing to the continued growth and success of K9 Destination. Comfortable promoting grooming services, encouraging client rebooking, and building long-term relationships with pet owners. Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment. Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in a fast-paced setting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to pet safety. Requirements Ability to lift and handle dogs up to 50 pounds independently. Reliable transportation. Valid driver's license. Authorized to work in the United States. Schedule Flexible schedule based on availability. 4-5 days per week preferred. Weekend availability is a plus.
