Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Grooming Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong background in animal care, ensuring that pets receive the highest level of grooming and attention. This role involves assisting professional groomers in providing grooming services while ensuring the safety and well-being of all animals in our care. This position is required to work Monday-Friday. Strong communication skills, organization, and spectacular customer service skills a must! This is a part time position. 8am-1pm Duties Must have the ability to independently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be confident when working with scared, anxious, and/or difficult pets. Assist groomers with bathing, drying, and grooming pets to maintain their hygiene and appearance. Handle dogs and other animals with care, ensuring their comfort during grooming sessions. Provide basic animal restraint as needed to facilitate safe grooming practices. Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, including cleaning tools and equipment after use. Monitor the health and behavior of animals during grooming sessions, reporting any concerns to the groomer or management. Engage with pet owners to provide excellent customer service, answering questions about grooming services and pet care. Assist with general animal care duties, including feeding, watering, bathroom breaks, and supervising animals as needed. Support kennel operations by helping with animal handling and care when required. Experience Previous experience in dog training or handling is preferred. Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles is highly desirable. Familiarity with animal behavior a plus! Experience in pet grooming or related fields such as animal care or kennel work is beneficial. Strong customer service skills are essential for interacting with pet owners effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling large breeds or multiple animals at once is required.
