As a Dog Trainer with OLK9, you will play a vital role in our dog training family. You must be committed to and show a genuine interest in enhancing communication and teamwork between dog and owner while providing a fun (and safe) training space for dogs and their owners. Plus have an interest in expanding your knowledge in the animal behavior field and enjoy coaching people. We provide the training, marketing, and support; you will be a supporting K9 Trainer for the OLK9 Birmingham/Pelham location working one on one with dogs and their human parents!

Responsibilities will include:

Becoming an expert trainer for Off Leash K9 Training. Promoting, conducting, and instructing all of our dog training curriculum. Ability to inspire and motivate self and others. Ability to handle dogs of all breeds and sizes, including large dogs who may need to be lifted or helped into positions, etc. Must be comfortable handling aggression and anxiety cases. Must be able to create Before and After videos comparable to the ones seen on our YouTube channel (we can teach this) Ensuring that the dogs receive the highest quality care and are maintained in clean, safe and secure crating or kennel Updating owners on a regular basis Have the ability to keep 1-2 dogs minimum in your home for our world famous 2-week board and train program Ability to conduct private lessons (some on weekends) Post quality content on social media of trained dogs Qualifications The ideal Dog Trainer candidate must have: Strong work ethic, reliable, adaptable, honest, and most importantly, a clear passion for dogs. Computer skills with the ability to do dog training videos The ability to work during peak traffic periods during week days and weekends Customer Service experience Reliable transportation You MUST be able to board 1-2 dogs minimum at a time in your home You MUST be able to attend a Trainer Certification course at our facility prior to teaching classes on your own You MUST live in Birmingham/Pelham/Tuscaloosa or surrounding metro area. The right person can easily make $50 to $75k/year and more, with a ton of flexibility, and doing something you love!
