Starting part time, going full time shortly as we progress. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a desire to provide exceptional service to both pets and their owners. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the survival, health and well-being of the animals in our care while maintaining a clean and safe environment. When full time, should be willing to relocate at the facility, where housing+utilities are offered as part of the compensation. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising dogs. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, house, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to management. Assist with grooming tasks as needed, including bathing and brushing dogs. Support dog training sessions by reinforcing good manners and managing groups playtime. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' needs and well-being. Handle animals safely using proper management techniques when necessary. Assist for training sessions as required. Provide maintenance where and when needed. Requirements Experience in animal care or handling is preferred; knowledge of kennel operations is a plus. Strong customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners. Ability to handle various breeds of dogs safely and effectively, will train you for that. Basic knowledge of pet grooming is beneficial. Must be physically capable of performing tasks that require lifting, bending, and standing mostly outdoors for extended periods. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential. Internship for learning dog training and behavior modification offered on your own time.
