Job Description
We are looking for a Full Time and Part Time Kennel Assistant. This person would need to be able to multi-task and have strong communication and critical thinking skills. We need someone who can confidently construct and monitor play groups and have knowledge of dog health and behavior. Vet Tech or Dog experience is a plus, but experience is not required if the right person shows willingness, good work ethic and competence. Being a self-starter and taking initiative is required. We are small facility who focuses on quality care. Our work environment consists of a small hard-working crew. We have huge appreciation for our employees and reward appropriately. ```Duties```
- Assist with the daily operations of the kennel facility
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all animals in the kennel
- Coordinate and schedule feeding, exercise, and medication administration for all animals
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kennel area
- Supervise and train kennel staff on proper animal handling techniques
- Assist with grooming and bathing of animals as needed
- Provide basic medical care and first aid to animals in emergency situations
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, behavior, and any incidents that occur
- Coordinate with veterinary professionals for routine care, vaccinations, and medical treatments ```Skills```
- Strong dog handling skills, including experience with various breeds and temperaments
- Knowledge of kennel operations and best practices for animal care
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) when necessary
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or technician is preferred
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with pet owners and address their concerns
- Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus
- Familiarity with pet grooming procedures is beneficial
- Ability to handle animals safely and calmly in stressful situations
