Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician/ Dog Handler to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care for animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being, ensuring a safe and clean environment for all pets. As a Kennel Technician/ Dog Handler, you will play a vital role in maintaining the health and happiness of the animals under your care while also providing exceptional customer service to pet owners. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising dogs and cats. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and other animal housing facilities. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management. Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed. Support pet grooming activities as required, ensuring pets are clean and comfortable. Interact with pet owners in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have. Help maintain inventory of supplies needed for animal care and facility maintenance. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and sanitation standards within the facility. Experience Previous experience in animal care or handling is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Customer service experience is highly valued to ensure positive interactions with pet owners. Familiarity with veterinary practices, pet sitting, dog handling, or grooming is advantageous. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated to complete tasks independently. Strong communication skills to interact with both animals and their owners effectively.
