Part-Time Kennel Technician Ruby's Pet Resort Lakeland, FL Job Details Part-time From $14 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Kennel experience Companion animal handling Pet grooming Dog handling Animal welfare Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our daycare and boarding team for dogs and cats. The ideal candidate is attentive, hardworking, and genuinely enjoys working hands-on with animals. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, clean, and positive environment while ensuring each pet receives quality care and attention during their stay. Prior professional experience with dogs is strongly preferred. Duties Provide daily care for dogs and cats, including feeding, cleaning, and routine care Supervise group play and assist with safe socialization and behavior management Handle pets safely and calmly to minimize stress and prevent injury Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, play yards, food areas, and equipment Assist with bathing and basic grooming as needed Monitor pets for signs of stress, illness, or injury and report concerns to management Follow facility policies and safety protocols at all times Communicate professionally with pet parents when needed, providing updates and assistance Experience & Qualifications Previous kennel, daycare, or animal care experience required Strong dog handling skills required; cat handling experience a plus Experience with pet sitting, grooming, or boarding environments is beneficial Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting pets or supplies Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with animals in a caring, structured boarding and daycare environment.
