Dog Training Specialist: In Home Board/Training Programs

Wag Mates Academy is looking for an experienced and reliable dog trainer to join our team as an independent subcontractor. This role focuses on board and train programs conducted in your home, working closely with dogs of different ages, temperaments, and training needs. We're looking for someone who is confident handling a variety of behaviors, communicates well with clients, and takes pride in delivering consistent, high-quality results. What You'll Do Host and train dogs in your home through structured board & train programs Work with puppies, basic obedience cases, and behavior-focused dogs Provide regular progress updates, including videos, to clients Complete training reports and maintain clear communication with our team Safely transport dogs for pick ups and drop offs when needed Follow structured training plans while adapting to each dog's needs What We're Looking For Minimum of 3 years of hands on dog training experience Certifications are preferred but not required Strong understanding of multiple training approaches and when to apply them Ability to safely manage at least 2 dogs at a time Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule Reliable transportation and willingness to travel for pick ups/drop offs Professional, communicative, and client focused What We Offer Flexible schedule with the ability to manage your own calendar Consistent client flow through our marketing and sales team Support from an experienced training and operations team Opportunity to work with a variety of cases and grow within the company This is a subcontractor position, ideal for trainers who are passionate about their work and looking for flexibility while being part of a supportive and growing team.
