Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dog Grooming Instructor to join our team. This role involves training aspiring pet groomers in proper grooming techniques, animal handling, and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, pet grooming, and dog training, with a passion for educating others and ensuring the well-being of animals. This position offers an opportunity to share your expertise while fostering a positive learning environment for students interested in animal care careers. Responsibilities Conduct hands-on training sessions for students in pet grooming, including bathing, trimming, and styling techniques Demonstrate proper animal handling and restraint methods to ensure safety for both animals and students Educate students on veterinary-related topics such as animal health, behavior, and basic veterinary procedures Supervise student practice to ensure adherence to safety protocols and grooming standards Provide guidance on pet care, animal restraint, and kennel management as part of comprehensive training Maintain a clean and organized training environment with appropriate equipment and supplies Assist students in developing their skills in pet grooming, animal handling, and customer service Promote a compassionate approach to animal care and ensure the well-being of all animals involved in training sessions Experience Proven experience in dog grooming, pet grooming, or animal handling roles Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant work is highly desirable Experience with dog training, pet sitting, or kennel management is beneficial Familiarity with veterinary procedures, animal restraint techniques, and pet care best practices Prior teaching or instructing experience in pet grooming or animal care is preferred Strong knowledge of animal behavior, safety protocols, and customer service principles Ability to handle heavy lifting when necessary for equipment setup or animal transport This position is integral to our mission of providing high-quality education in pet grooming and animal care. Pay:
$25.00 - $27.50 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
