Job Description

Seeking an able-bodied, compassionate, and hardworking individual to join our team for our boarding, training, and dog academy in Winterset . Position Summary A kennel technician provides daily care, feeding, and exercise for all boarding pets. He or she also cleans the environments in which the dogs reside. A kennel technician must pay close attention to details, understand and follow proper feeding and sanitation procedures, and monitor all boarding pets. Job Responsibilities
  • Keeping kennels, training areas, dog yards, and the facility clean
  • Exercising, feeding, and observing the health of dogs
  • Using mindfulness when moving and working with dogs who are reactive and/or service dogs.
  • Basic grooming of dogs
  • Communicating effectively with trainer's, supervisors, and other staff
  • Understanding infectious diseases and how to control and prevent their spread
  • Administering Medications as instructed
  • Laundry
  • Making sure the dogs remain happy and healthy
  • Playing with and loving on the dogs! Basic Job Requirements
  • MUST BE OVER 18 TO WORK ALONE IN KENNELS
  • US citizens or legally authorized to work in the US for at least the next 12 months
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Available to work 16 hours of the six major holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas)
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions
  • Ability to do simple math
  • Ability to remain calm and productive in stressful situations
  • Must enjoy working around dogs
  • Must be a team player Physical Obligations
  • Able to lift dogs and carry equipment up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to lift dogs or carry equipment over 50 pounds with assistance
  • Endure sitting, standing, and walking on hard floor surfaces and stairs for extended periods
  • Mowing Grass, Snow removal, Building and grounds upkeep. Hours Tuesday through Friday 10:00 Am
  • 5:00 PM (End is negotiable) Saturday 7:30 AM
