Canine Care & Guest Services Associate The Dog Stop Job Summary Do you love dogs and enjoy working with people? We're looking for energetic, dependable team members to join our team in a cross-trained role that combines exceptional customer service with hands-on pet care. As a Canine Care & Guest Services Associate , you'll divide your time between the front desk and our daycare/boarding areas. You'll help create an outstanding experience for both our human and canine guests by assisting with reservations, check-ins, and customer communication while also supervising dogs, maintaining a clean facility, and ensuring every pet receives safe, attentive care. This is an active, fast-paced position that requires flexibility, teamwork, and a genuine passion for animals. ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Front Desk Welcome customers and their pets in a friendly and professional manner. Manage reservations, scheduling, check-ins, and check-outs. Answer phones, emails, and customer inquiries. Process payments and maintain accurate client and pet records. Communicate boarding, daycare, and grooming information to pet parents. Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby. Dog Care & Supervision Supervise dogs in daycare and boarding groups while promoting safe play. Recognize canine body language and respond appropriately to stress, anxiety, or aggressive behaviors. Walk dogs safely throughout the facility. Feed dogs and administer medications according to instructions. Provide enrichment, exercise, and individualized attention. Monitor each dog's health, comfort, and overall well-being. Cleaning & Facility Maintenance Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, bowls, crates, toys, bedding, and equipment. Promptly clean pet waste and maintain cleanliness throughout the facility. Follow all sanitation and safety procedures using approved cleaning products. Assist in maintaining an organized, safe, and welcoming environment. Team Support Cross-train and assist in multiple departments based on business needs. Work collaboratively with kennel, grooming, and management teams. Participate in ongoing training and staff meetings. Help ensure daily operations run efficiently while delivering exceptional pet care. QualificationsRequired Previous customer service experience. Passion for working with dogs and providing excellent customer care. Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organization and multitasking abilities. Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Comfortable working in a loud environment with frequent barking. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical work throughout an entire shift. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Preferred Experience in dog daycare, boarding, veterinary, grooming, shelter, or kennel environments. Knowledge of canine behavior and body language. Pet First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain). Work Environment This is a physically active position in a fast-paced pet care facility.

Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
