In this energetic role, you will design and implement engaging enrichment activities that promote mental stimulation, physical activity, and overall well-being for dogs in our care. Your passion for animals and creativity will help create a joyful environment where dogs thrive, feel safe, and develop positive behaviors. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals while working in a lively, supportive setting. Duties Develop and execute innovative enrichment programs tailored to individual dogs' needs, including toys, puzzles, scent games, and physical activities Assist with dog handling during enrichment sessions, ensuring safe and positive interactions Support basic training exercises to reinforce good behavior and social skills Monitor dogs during activities to ensure safety and engagement, providing animal restraint when necessary Maintain cleanliness and organization of enrichment supplies and play areas Document each dog's response to activities and adjust programs accordingly to maximize benefits Skills Strong knowledge of dog training techniques and behavioral management strategies Experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, shelters, or pet care facilities is highly desirable Excellent animal handling and restraint skills to ensure safety for both dogs and staff Background in veterinary technician work, pet grooming, pet sitting or kennel experience is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or supplies Exceptional customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and pet owners Passion for animal care combined with creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for enriching canine lives At The Clever Canine , we believe enrichment is more than just keeping dogs busy—it's about building confidence, encouraging problem-solving, and creating meaningful experiences that help dogs thrive.
