Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Canine Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, with a focus on providing exceptional care for dogs in a kennel or similar environment. This role requires excellent customer service skills, as you will interact with pet owners and ensure their pets receive the best possible treatment. This a Part Time/Per Diem position to start with the possibility to become FT. Training will be M-F until able to work alone on a weekend shift. Responsibilities Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of the kennel area and ensure a safe environment for all animals. Monitor the health and behavior of the dogs, reporting any concerns to management. Assist with training exercises and socialization for dogs in the facility. Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets and address any questions or concerns. Perform heavy lifting as needed when handling larger breeds or moving equipment. Collaborate with co-workers when necessary to ensure proper health care for the animals. Requirements Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred, such as roles in kennels, veterinary clinics, equestrian or pet grooming facilities. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting and engage in physical activity throughout the day. Knowledge of dog training techniques and handling. Ecollar proficiency preferred but not required. Familiarity with pet grooming practices is an advantage. Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is beneficial but not required. Bachelors Degree is preferred but not required. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential. Come join a growing team on the forefront of focused dog care.
