Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Cage Give/Sitter to provide exceptional care and attention to animals in a safe, nurturing environment. This role involves caring for pets of various species, ensuring their well-being during their stay, and offering peace of mind to pet owners. The ideal candidate will be energetic, compassionate, and highly organized, with a strong love for animals and a commitment to delivering top-quality pet sitting services. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, applying your animal handling skills and veterinary knowledge to make a positive difference in their lives. Duties Provide attentive cage giving and pet sitting services for dogs, cats, and other small animals, ensuring they are comfortable and secure during their stay Administer pet medications or treatments as prescribed by veterinarians, utilizing veterinary technician or assistant experience when necessary Engage in dog training activities and reinforce good behavior through positive reinforcement techniques Handle animals safely using proper restraint methods, ensuring both pet and handler safety at all times Maintain clean and sanitized cages, bedding, and feeding areas to promote healthy living conditions Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs, behaviors, and any concerns that arise during care Assist with outdoor activities such as dog walking or exercise sessions to promote physical health and mental stimulation Perform heavy lifting when necessary to transport supplies or move animals safely within the facility Qualifications Prior experience in veterinary settings, including veterinary technician or assistant roles, is highly preferred Demonstrated dog training and handling skills with a solid understanding of animal behavior Experience with animal restraint techniques and pet care procedures Knowledge of cat care, animal behavior management, and outdoor work environments Ability to perform overnight in-home or facility-based pet sitting with flexibility for varying schedules Strong communication skills for client interaction and reporting on pet status Physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor activities involving animals A genuine passion for animal welfare combined with a responsible attitude toward pet safety and comfort Join us in creating a safe, loving environment where animals thrive!
