D Are you a local, trustworthy, & honest person who LOVES animals and being outdoors? Come take care of some fur babies with us! Bmore Best Buds is hiring a part-time "substitute human" to join our team. This position starts at $20/hr with potential for a raise after 6 months, paid break, and hours vary with demand. The ideal candidates would work Monday through Thursday and every other Friday (switching off): shifts are 10-2:30 and 12-4:30 and never more than a half mile from the Patterson Park! Pet care responsibilities will mainly consist of daily dog walking visits with occasional cat visits and drop-in visits. Must be physically able to walk for hours a day and in all weather conditions. Having a cell phone with internet/gps and a personally insured & reliable vehicle is non-negotiable. You cannot safely transport animals without a vehicle. If interested, please send your resume, experience with animals, and 2-3 PROFESSIONAL references to bmorebestbuds@gmail.com Duties Safely handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments using proper techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff Assist with dog training exercises to promote good behavior and socialization during visits. Animal care tasks including feeding, administering medications, and monitoring health status. Engage in pet sitting duties by supervising pets during their stay, ensuring their well-being and comfort at all times Perform kennel cleaning, sanitation, and organization to maintain a clean environment that adheres to health standards (as needed- our pups do not make a habit of pottying in their crates!) Handle heavy lifting when necessary for transporting supplies or animals safely within the facility An insured, personal, safe vehicle to go to and from client homes, as well as transport animals from time to time. Scooters/walking will not be acceptable, sorry! Qualifications Prior experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, kennels, pet grooming salons, or pet sitting environments is highly preferred, but willing to train the right candidate! Knowledge of dog training techniques is helpful but animal handling skills is essential! Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing, walking, and performing active duties throughout the day Familiarity with animal restraint techniques, animal care protocols, and safety procedures for handling diverse species Pet CPR Certified is a HUGE bonus!
