Overview Join our dynamic team as a Dog Handler and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and handling services. In this energetic role, you will work closely with dogs of various breeds and temperaments, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your dedication will help create a positive environment for pets and their owners alike, contributing to the overall success of our pet care facility. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in animal handling, training, and welfare while working outdoors and engaging with animals daily. Duties Safely handle and restrain dogs during examinations, grooming, training, or transport to ensure their safety and comfort Assist veterinary staff with animal care procedures, including feeding, cleaning, and administering medications Conduct pet sitting and kennel duties, maintaining cleanliness and organization within the facility Support pet grooming sessions by handling animals gently and securely during grooming processes Monitor animal behavior to identify signs of stress or discomfort and respond appropriately Assist with outdoor activities such as walking dogs or supervising playtime in enclosed areas Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners and answering their questions about pet care Requirements Previous experience in veterinary settings, dog handling, or animal care facilities is highly preferred Knowledge of animal behavior, restraint techniques, and animal welfare standards Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of animals or equipment safely Hands-on experience with pet grooming, dog training, or kennel management is advantageous Strong outdoor work experience with animals in various weather conditions Excellent customer service skills to engage positively with pet owners and visitors Demonstrated ability to handle companion animals safely while maintaining calmness under pressure Physical stamina for active outdoor work involving animal restraint and movement tasks Embark on a rewarding career where your passion for animals makes a real difference!
