Overview:
This position will be located in Rockford at the Wolverine Worldwide headquarters. The location operates Tuesdays through Thursdays. Shift hours may range from 6:45 AM-12:45 PM, 1:45 PM-6:30 PM, or full-day shifts from 6:45 AM-6:30 PM. Weekly hours may range from approximately 6-25 hours depending on operational needs. Additional hours may also be available at our Grand Rapids location. All interviews and training will take place at our Grand Rapids location on East Beltline. •Please do not visit or call any location regarding this position. Position Overview:
As a Canine Coach at Dogtopia, you will be responsible for supervising and caring for a group of dogs in our daycare environment. Your role is to ensure each dog remains safe, healthy, and happy while helping maintain a positive, engaging play experience. Coaches will be assigned to a separate playroom and will be responsible for supervising groups of approximately 5-15 dogs depending on the day and playgroup.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Playgroups:
Monitor and manage a pack of dogs, ensuring they interact safely and positively with one another.
Health & Safety:
Continuously observe dogs for any signs of stress, illness, or injury and take appropriate action when necessary. Report concerns to shift lead.
Engagement & Enrichment:
Lead group activities, including games and exercises, to keep dogs active, entertained, and mentally stimulated.
Cleanliness & Maintenance:
Maintain clean and organized play areas by promptly cleaning up after dogs and following sanitation protocols.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with shift lead regarding dog behavior, needs, and any incidents that occur.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with shift lead to ensure safe and efficient daily operations.
Qualifications:
A love for dogs and a passion for their well-being. Ability to handle multiple dogs of various sizes and temperaments in a group setting. Strong observation skills to monitor dog behavior and health. Good communication and teamwork skills. Physical ability to remain active for extended periods and perform cleaning tasks. Ability to provide frequent interaction and engagement with dogs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a dog daycare, animal shelter, veterinary clinic, or related animal care environment is a plus. Knowledge of basic canine behavior and training techniques is preferred.

$13.75 - $16.00 per hour
