We're expanding our team! We are currently looking to add a second Canine Coach to our Rockford location at Wolverine Worldwide. This is a great opportunity to join a growing program providing attentive care and supervision to our canine guests. The average number of dogs per room will be approximately 10 dogs.

•Overview This position is based at the Wolverine Worldwide headquarters in Rockford. This location operates Tuesday through Thursday.

Available shifts may include:

6:45 AM-12:45 PM 1:45 PM-6:30 PM Full-day shifts from 6:45 AM-6:30 PM (1 - 1.5 hour break) Additional hours may also be available at our Grand Rapids location. All interviews and some training will be conducted at our Grand Rapids location on East Beltline. Position Overview As a Canine Coach, you'll supervise a group of dogs in our daycare environment and help create a safe, healthy, and enjoyable experience for every dog. You'll monitor their behavior and well-being while keeping them engaged through play and enrichment activities.

Key Responsibilities Playgroup Supervision:

Oversee a group of dogs and ensure they are interacting safely and appropriately with one another.

Health & Safety:

Closely monitor dogs for signs of stress, illness, or injury and take appropriate action when needed. Report any concerns to the shift lead.

Engagement & Enrichment:

Organize and participate in group activities, games, and exercises that keep dogs active, engaged, and mentally stimulated.

Cleanliness & Maintenance:

Keep play areas clean and organized by promptly cleaning up after dogs and following all sanitation and corporate procedures.

Communication:

Maintain clear communication with the shift lead regarding dog behavior, individual needs, and any incidents that occur.

Team Collaboration:

Work alongside the location shift lead and other Canine Coach to support safe, organized, and efficient daily operations. LOTS of interaction! Dance parties, bubble parties, photo parties, obstacle courses, pool parties, and more! Qualifications Genuine love for dogs and a strong interest in their health and well-being. Ability to safely manage multiple dogs with different sizes, personalities, and temperaments in a group environment. Strong observation skills and the ability to recognize changes in dog behavior or health. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to stay physically active for extended periods and perform cleaning and other physical tasks. Willingness and ability to provide frequent interaction, attention, and engagement with dogs. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working in a dog daycare, animal shelter, veterinary clinic, or similar animal-care setting is a plus. Familiarity with basic canine behavior and training techniques is preferred.

Pay:

$13.75 - $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 18.0 - 32.0 per week
