Job Description
Job description: Do you love dogs? Are you looking for a career opportunity doing work you love? We are looking for a highly motivated, dog-loving individual who is ready to learn some new skills and help us grow in this permanent position. Qualified candidates must be available at up to 4 days per week. Our hours are 6:30am to 7pm Monday-Friday. We are closed on weekends, but we do host a couple weekend special events throughout the year that require help. You must be comfortable around a variety of sizes and breeds of dogs, working outside and inside in a variety of weather conditions, be able to lift 50# unassisted, be willing to stand on your feet most of the shift, and interact freely with the dogs, including but not limited to assisting with feeding, clean up, bathing and dispensing medications. Essentials of a strong candidate are:
- ability to work in a ever-changing environment
- desire to work as a team member in a cooperative unit
- willing to communicate frequently and quickly
- reliable transportation
- a desire to grow, learn, and pursue in-depth education on dog behavior and training We are looking for candidates with a high school diploma or equivalency, no less than 2 years of trained volunteer or professional dog handling experience, who are willing to work hard and not be afraid to get a little dirty every day.
