Job Description
Shaggy Shed Dog Grooming is looking for a dependable, energetic, and dog-loving Dog Bather to join our team. This is a hands-on position perfect for someone who enjoys working with animals and takes pride in helping every dog leave clean, comfortable, and looking their best. What You'll Do
- Safely bathe dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments
- Shampoo and condition coats based on each dog's needs
- Thoroughly rinse, towel-dry, and blow-dry dogs
- Brush and comb coats before and after bathing
- Perform basic services such as nail trimming/grinding and ear cleaning
- Identify and communicate skin, coat, ear, or other concerns to the groomer
- Safely handle and restrain dogs using proper techniques
- Prepare dogs for their scheduled groomer
- Clean and disinfect tubs, tables, kennels, tools, and work areas between dogs
- Wash and organize towels and grooming supplies
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary grooming environment
- Provide gentle, patient care and help make each dog's visit as stress-free as possible
- Assist groomers and other team members as needed What We're Looking For
- Genuine love for dogs and their well-being
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Patient and comfortable handling dogs with different personalities and energy levels
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift or assist with dogs up to approximately 50 lbs; team lifting/equipment will be used for larger dogs
- Previous bathing, grooming, kennel, veterinary, or animal-care experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person What Makes Shaggy Shed Different At Shaggy Shed, we're building more than a grooming shop.
