Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Kennel Assistant and play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support for our beloved animals. In this energetic position, you will assist with daily kennel operations, ensure the well-being of pets, and maintain a clean, safe environment for animals and staff alike. Duties Assist with the daily cleaning, feeding, and watering of animals housed in kennels or cages to ensure a hygienic environment. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, ensuring their comfort and security during interactions. Provide attentive pet sitting services, including monitoring behavior and responding promptly to any signs of distress or illness. Help with dog training exercises under supervision to encourage good behavior and socialization. Supervise and engage dogs during daycare playtime, ensuring they remain safe while socializing and interacting with other dogs. Maintain accurate records of animal care activities, including feeding schedules, medical treatments, and behavioral observations. Experience Prior experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, pet grooming salon, or pet sitting environment is preferred but not required. On-the-job training available. Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures enhances your ability to excel in this role. Strong customer service skills are essential for communicating effectively with pet owners and team members. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and perform hands-on animal care duties throughout the day is required.
