Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dog Walker to provide exercise and socialization for our canine clients. As a Dog Walker, you will be responsible for walking dogs in a safe and controlled environment, while ensuring their overall well-being and health. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of dogs and their owners and to work with a dedicated team of animal lovers. Ideally, we are looking for someone to tend to our fur friends from 9 am-3 pm (add-on visits available depending on schedule.Responsibilities:
- Walk dogs of various sizes and breeds, providing regular exercise and mental stimulation
- Maintain a clean and organized kennel area, ensuring the health and safety of the dogs in your care
- Handle dogs safely and humanely, using proper techniques for restraint and grooming
- Provide pet sitting services, including feeding, administering medication, and providing fresh water
- Monitor the physical and emotional health of the dogs, reporting any concerns or issues to the veterinarian or pet owner
- Maintain accurate records of the dogs' activities, including walk times, weather conditions, and any issues that may have arisen
- Communicate with pet owners regarding the dog's behavior, health, and any special instructions or requests
- Perform heavy lifting to transport dogs and their supplies
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure the dogs receive the care and attention they need
- Assist with dog training and socialization, helping to improve the dogs' behavior and overall well-being
Requirements:
- Experience in dog walking or a related field
- Knowledge of dog handling and restraint techniques
- Ability to lift heavy bags or equipment (up to 50 pounds)
- Experience with pet grooming and cleaning
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable with dogs of all sizes and breeds
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures and protocols
- Ability to handle dogs safely and humanely, even in situations where they may be aggressive or fearful
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with pet owners
- Experience with dog training and socialization, and a willingness to learn and grow in these areas
- A passion for animals and a commitment to providing high-quality care and service.
