We are looking to add a dependable, self-motivated, and experienced dog trainer to our team. Turning Point Dog Training opened our doors in December 2019 with a clear purpose: to raise the standard of dog training. From the beginning, we committed to training methods grounded in modern behavioral science and relationship building—not outdated, heavy-handed techniques that rely on force or fear. We call ourselves truly balanced trainers because balance, when done right, is thoughtful, fair, and centered around the dog in front of us. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a wide variety of breeds, sizes, and temperaments, as well as sound knowledge of dog training techniques, animal behavior, and body language. Excellent time management, communication skills, and the ability to multitask are also a must. This is a client-facing position, as you will be meeting with potential clients, assessing their needs, and making training recommendations.
Pay:
$35 - $45 hourly depending on experience and performance $400 - $450 commission bonus for board and train sales

Dog Trainers:
Meeting with clients to understand challenges and goals Assessing dogs in person and identifying potential challenges Creating custom training plans for each dog Recommend and sell appropriate training programs, including board and train packages and private lessons Implementing appropriate training programs to address behavioral issues Providing consistent communication with clients Teaching clients appropriate training methods to enforce and maintain behaviors and skills learned by their dogs during training sessions Work collaboratively with our team of trainers to ensure consistent training standards
Expectations:
1 year experience as a dog trainer professionally Excellent written and verbal communication skills Confidence speaking with clients and making training recommendations Excellent teamwork skills Proven experience working as a dog trainer Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills Strong dog handling skills A love for dogs Patient and enthusiastic Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
