Job Description
Your Columbus Dog Walker is a locally owned pet care company providing premium, reliable care to pet owners across Columbus, Ohio for the last 5 years. We are seeking a dedicated, physically fit field team member to provide solo dog walks and pet care visits.
Key Responsibilities Solo Field Operations:
Complete assigned daytime dog walking and home care visits within our entire service area. (43207, 43206, 43205, 43203, 43201, 43212, 43221, 43213, 43227, 43232, 43209, 43123)Large & Giant Breed Handling:
Confidently manage, walk, and exercise dogs of all temperaments and sizes, including large and giant breeds (e.g., German Shepherds, Dogo Argentinos, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Newfoundlands).Protocol & Safety Adherence:
Strictly follow customer care instructions, secure home access procedures, and double-check entry/exit locks at every visit.Mobile Logging:
Use our mobile team app on your personal smartphone to check in/out, log completed visits, capture photos, and communicate client updates.Animal Welfare Monitoring:
Identify and immediately report any animal health, behavioral, or environmental safety issues to management.Requirements & Qualifications Professional Experience:
Demonstrated background in pet care, veterinary technology (RVT), volunteering, animal shelter operations, or dog training. Personal or family pet ownership alone does not meet this requirement.Physical Stamina:
Ability to walk 5-10 miles daily in all Ohio weather conditions (rain, heat, cold) and comfortably control strong dogs 60+ lbs on a leash.Reliable Vehicle & License:
Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, personal auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle to travel between appointments within Columbus.Technology:
Smartphone with an active data plan capable of running mobile scheduling software.Background Check:
Clear criminal background check required prior to start.Schedule & Hours Core Daytime Schedule:
Monday through Friday, approximately 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM.Additional Income & Hours:
While not required for this job, we do have several services that provide more hours per week / additional income if interested: Daytime /Overnight Sittings Evening Services Holiday Availability Compensation & Classification Status:
W-2Employee Pay & Perks:
Hourly wage (based on experience), weekly pay, paid training, and mileage reimbursement allowance. No evening, weekends, or holidays required.Pay:
$15.00 - $17.50 per hourBenefits:

Please explain your experience with dogs greater than 60 lbs. Which large breed dogs are you personally familiar with? Are you consistently able to work Monday through Friday between 10am-3pm? Please explain your experience fitting harnesses and leashes on animals other than your own. Do you have a reliable car, insurance, and a valid drivers license?Shift availability:
