Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care for dogs and other pets. You will be responsible for the daily care, handling, and well-being of animals in our kennel facility. Responsibilities Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, grooming, bathing, exercising & training. Maintain cleanliness of kennels and play areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management. Assist with animal restraint during grooming as needed. Support training programs for dogs as required, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques. Perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving supplies or assisting with larger animals. Collaborate with team members to ensure all animals receive the best possible care. Requirements Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred (kennel experience is a plus). Familiarity with dog training techniques and veterinary practices is highly desirable. Experience as an assistant, or groomer is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting and maintain physical stamina throughout the workday. A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing exceptional care. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
