Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our animal care team. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine love for animals and demonstrate strong animal handling skills, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our canine residents. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining clean and safe kennel environments, providing basic pet care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where animal welfare is the top priority. Duties Provide attentive pet care including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed by veterinary staff. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and surrounding areas to promote health and prevent disease transmission. Handle dogs safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Monitor animal behavior closely, noting any signs of distress or illness and reporting concerns promptly. Experience Previous experience working with animals in a kennel or pet boarding facility is highly preferred. Knowledge of dog handling techniques and animal restraint methods is essential. Experience in pet grooming or pet sitting enhances the ability to provide comprehensive care. Familiarity with dog training principles helps support behavioral development efforts. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with larger animals is required.
