Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team at Animal Charity of Ohio as a weekend Canine Caretaker, where your passion for dogs and animal welfare will shine! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care, and handling for our canine residents. Your enthusiasm and dedication will ensure each dog receives personalized attention, proper care, and a safe, loving environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals and helping them in their journey to find their forever homes. This is a fast-paced, ever- changing environment! This position is for weekend shifts only. Shifts available are 8am-4pm or 3pm-9pm (sometimes 10pm if short staffed). Duties Provide daily care including feeding, grooming, exercise, and enrichment activities tailored to each dog's needs Handle dogs of all sizes and breeds safely using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff Cleaning of kennels and kennel areas, scooping poop, feeding and walking dogs Put away donations, stock shelves Experience Prior experience working with dogs or in animal care settings such as kennels, veterinary clinics, or pet grooming salons is preferred but not required. Knowledge of dog handling techniques and animal restraint methods is preferred but not required Ability to communicate and work well with others Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to handle large or energetic dogs safely Join us in creating a joyful, safe space where dogs can thrive!
