Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Rescue Dog Kennel Attendant and play a vital role in providing compassionate care and safe shelter for rescue dogs. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, secure, and nurturing environment that promotes the well-being and behavior of our canine residents. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help ensure each dog receives the highest quality care, preparing them for successful adoption and happy lives. Duties Provide daily care for rescue dogs, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed by veterinary staff Maintain cleanliness of kennels, common areas, and equipment through regular sanitization and cleaning protocols Handle dogs safely using animal restraint techniques and proper dog handling skills to prevent injury to animals or staff Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and outdoor exercise activities to promote physical activity and mental stimulation Monitor animal behavior closely, identifying signs of stress or health issues and reporting concerns promptly Support veterinary technicians with basic animal care procedures such as grooming, pet grooming, and administering treatments Ensure compliance with animal care facility sanitization standards and safety protocols at all times Experience Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is highly desirable Kennel experience or pet boarding background provides a strong foundation for this role Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or animal handling enhances your ability to work effectively with rescue dogs Knowledge of animal behavior and restraint techniques is essential for safe handling of diverse dog personalities Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting tasks required for moving supplies or assisting with large dogs Outdoor work experience helps in managing outdoor exercise routines in various weather conditions Excellent customer service skills are beneficial when interacting with adopters, volunteers, or visitors Join us in making a difference!
