Job Description
Job Overview This is a supportive role on a team of professional dog trainers, working out of your own home. After dogs graduate from our training program, owners can board their dog in a trainers' home where all training will stay consistent when they go out of town. You're that trainer! This can be a part time or full time role, as you can choose how many dogs you want to board at once. The available workload fluctuates throughout the year. Pay will be based on experience, but you will earn approximately $6,500 per month if you board 3-4 dogs at a time. Prior dog training experience is required.•Responsibilities Board dogs in your own home while their owners are out of town Maintain a safe, highly managed environment that maintains structure and discipline for dogs who may be prone to behavior problems Use the obedience commands that dogs learning in training on a day to day basis, such as asking the dog to heel during walks, sit/stay before going through doors, etc. Work with our team of trainers to continuously improve your dog training and handling abilities. Opportunities for advancement into a dog trainer position may be available in the future. Communicate with owners by sending daily photos and updates of their dogs Maintain notes of each dogs' behavior that their trainer can reference within their training program•Requirements You live in a house (not an apartment) located within 25 minutes of downtown Austin You can dedicate a room of your house to dogs in boarding with you You have professional dog training experience or have graduated from a dog training school You are willing to follow strict care, safety, and training guidelines to maintain consistency between the dogs' boarding stays and training programs•This is an ideal fit for a dog trainer looking for supplemental income, a green dog trainer, or an experienced dog care professional.
