Dog Behavior Apprentice & Educator

We use a holistic, science-based approach rooted in positive reinforcement to strengthen the bond between dogs and their humans. Role:
Although we're called "dog trainers," most of your work will be focused on the human end of the leash . While some hands-on work with dogs is included, many of our canine clients require behavior modification that prioritizes setting them up for success
  • often by guiding their people first. This is not a job for those simply looking to play with puppies. We offer a structured unpaid apprenticeship to help you develop your skills before working independently. When you're ready, you'll begin taking on your own private and group class clients on a commission basis. The timeline is flexible and based on your readiness
  • we won't push you into cases before you're confident and capable.
Requirements:
Availability for at least two weekday evenings (4-8pm) and Saturdays ( 9-1, 10-2, 2-6 or equivalent ) A driver's license and reliable transportation (private sessions take place across Rhode Island, though we'll work with you to define a reasonable travel area) Comfort working with people and a genuine desire to teach, guide, and support them Willingness to learn and grow within a science-based, humane training philosophy Experience in teaching, psychology, behavior analysis, education, or animal behavior is preferred but not required Group classes are held at our East Greenwich facility; private lessons take place both there and in clients' homes throughout the state. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a career grounded in behavioral science, compassionate teaching, and a desire to help both dogs and people thrive.
