Responsibilities:

Work with clients and their dogs to help them with training challenges Prepare training plans to assist clients with behavior modification of their dogs Meet with clients on arrival and departure of dog to discuss training expectations and progress Work one-on-one and train with day school puppies Document and keep notes and video of a dog's behavior during a training session. Be able to communicate this information to the client in person, via phone, video, or email. Manage puppy play groups Ability to focus on and prioritize physical and emotional well-being of dogs in our care Run preset class curriculum and help develop new class curriculum (where applicable) Conduct group classes Assist with additional training sessions as needed, including virtual training when asked Consult with other trainers and training coordinator Create content (photos & videos) for social media posting.

Qualifications For This Position:

We are seeking associate trainers for our puppy day school with future training to lead our group classes. For the associate dog trainer/play supervisor, our ideal applicant has at least one year of professional dog training experience and is certified via the PPG, CCPDT, IAABC, or is a KPA-CTP or seeking this certification. For assistant trainers, we are willing to train the right candidates. You must have at least two years of experience working with dogs in a professional capacity.

Additional Requirements:

Knowledge of Operant and Classical Conditioning as it pertains to training dogs preferred. Knowledge and understanding of dogs, dog behavior, and canine communication is key. Shelter/Rescue experience a plus Dog daycare experience a big plus Must be reliable, dependable, and punctual Must have reliable transportation

Pay:

Starting at $17-19 per hour depending on experience and up to $40/hour for eventual group class training Potential pay raise after 90 days

Schedule:

20 - 25 hours/week (with possible additional hours after training) Must be available to work weekdays . A combination of weekdays, weekday evenings, and weekend days (no weekend evenings) will be required for group class training. NO major holidays
